Ants On a Log!

Initially I wanted to make ants on a log. Put in peanut butter in the slot and arrange some raisins on top. Viola! But I decided to put in egg mayo and chilli tuna so I can bring my leftover celery stick for today's lunch!

Extra egg mayo I made it into sandwich! I love my lunch! This helps when you are so freaking broke!!!

My Sister's Keeper

Really tear jerking story. I cried like in most scenes that is obviously too sentimental. I was not sad at the fact that Katie( the leukemia sister) was going to die. But the tremendous effort the mum puts in ever since the day they found out about her illness just touched me so deep inside. The love they have for each other in the family. It's just so close it feels empty when just one person is missing. But I am glad they all could move on to a better life after Katie was gone. The mum (Cameron Diaz) could go back to living her deserved life as a very successful woman, mother and lawyer.

I love the montaged book Katie made for her mum and I know why she keeps looking at it before she goes away. She knew it was the most perfect gift for her mother before she is going away forever. The book was special. Personalised and very engaging. Overall, I enjoyed the movie!

Kudos to both the author and director of the great story!

Simple + Pretty

I love this website! Really Nice things being blogged. In many categories. This website also included other cool nice finds! =) Something to keep me awake at work...

Iain McIntosh

I chanced upon his illustrations when I was looking for whisky label samples. I found out that this guy's illustrations is like those we see in reader's digest and stuff. very vector, sometime with detailed hatching and stuff.

Iain lives and work in Scotland. I think his kind of illustration is very classic. Quite like some. =) The think and thin lines of hatching looks complex. Looking at his works, I know some are traditionally illustrated and tweaked in digital. But some are totally digital.

He looks like a designer who damn experienced tho..

Sleep Deprived

Been catching up with drama series when I got home from work. And I sleep later than usual and wake up earlier than usual so I can watch and catch up with the girls at work. I know this sounds like a silly sacrifice. But I enjoy doing it!!

The Office is so hilarious!! =)

500 Days Of Summer

I caught this with Ayul last week. It's the sweetest thing to watch and we were really enjoying the movie. All set with Nachos, Curry Puffs from Old Chang Kee and hmm what else, oh some drink, we were laughing our heads off and went Awwww--aaahhhh at those really witty scenes.

I like the arty-farty kinda feel to it. The way they cut and paste scenes and clips into the whole film. It might not be really original but it's something different in a very long time. Most movies just flow from start to end.

This film brings us back to storytelling days of flashbacks and really good humor. Haha! Definitely a must watch and I surely don't mind watching it over and over again!

My New Toy!!

Now I really have something to scream about and get sore throat!! I have my new toy with me and I am loving it! Been dreading my old cranky phone. I was so relieved when I found out I can still keep within budget and upgrade to iPhone.

Still learning shortcuts and secrets.. I am finding applications and games to play and of course a converter to convert my videos so I can watch them on my phone! =)

Worth Drooling For!

Hmm no comments. Just a beautiful eye therapy.

Jessica Szohr!!

Hmm I like her face. There's something about her that look timeless and exotic at the same time. I don't know how to describe that expression actually. Well I am happy she is seeing Ed Westwick though.

Oh! And I super love her style and what she wears. Especially the ones with blazers and hats. =)

Holga!!

I am in love with Holga even before I buy it. I am going to get one for myself, after I replace my really shit phone. Urgh. Can't wait to get a hold of it and play around. It's be fun and so random. Nice things to keep into a journal and album..

=)

Tahu Goreng!!!

I finally had my tahu goreng on Monday! Forgot to write about it. It's such a simple kampong dish and not to mention cheap to whip out too. But it's one of my favourite things to eat and really get full.

It's made of fried tofu, sambal petis and kacang, cucumber and bean sprouts. One can add carrots if you want to eat more veggies. I think the secret recipe lies on how you whip up the sambal petis. You can make it spicy or non-spicy or more 'bacin'(that means more petis or not).

The nuts in the sambal must be well fried too. If it's not crunchy, your tahu goreng dish is just gonna one lousy one. =)

happiness...

Well MJ Raya did went great! But my dodo was working and couldn't join us. What a pity. Well let's hope I can edit the pics soon and upload them. Opps! Actually I got the raya pics with dodo and friends to upload as well.

Jorge Restrepo

I will make time. Don't worry. Anyways, I found this great guy Jorge Restrepo. I learnt that he's teaching at some school. Would love to be his student. I like his works. The textures and graphics are rich and not so slapstick and common.

Ya I admit I don't quite like vector graphics that much. I'm more hands on kinda illustration type of person. But I am learning to appreciate the art of vector graphics. Adding texture to the whole mixed media art would be lovely. I did tried doing something like that for my pitch to ezad and ema's logo. Which reminds me.. I gotta do some improvements on the best 2 they chose. =)

Leil Ya Leil

I am always fascinated with Arabic language, type and music. I love their instruments. And most of the females are very stunningly beautiful..

Here's one of them. Melissa.. hmm don't quite sure of her full name. I googled Melissa and saw that Melissa is a name given for a female child. Lovely. Here's what Melissa means in Wiki..

"Melissa is a given name for a female child. The origin of Melissa comes from the ancient Hittite word Melita which means honey. The meaning of the word has shifted into honey bee in Greek. Moreover, the pronunciation has changed to Melissa (Ionic Greek: Mέλισσα).

In Greek mythology, perhaps reflecting Minoan culture, Melissa raised the infant Zeus inCrete, nursing him with goat's-milk (see Amalthea) and honey. In later myth she was given a father, Melissus of Crete.

In 2007, Melissa was the 137th most popular name for girls born in the United States, dropping steadily from its peak of second place in 1977. It was among the top ten most popular names for girls from 1967 to 1984.[2]

Melissa also refers to the plant known as lemon balm (family Lamiaceae; genus and species Melissa officinalis)."

As Busy as a Bumble Bee

I am so busy at work this week I havent got time to scratch my butt. If we could not finish the latest changes tomorrow, then we've to come back on Saturday. Which is super annoying!!

By the way I sent my email to Rich and Selva. We're gonna talk late Monday evening. Hope this will go ok. Another meeting tomorrow for a Japanese company. Think they're doing a brochure. I am glad I am busy at work doing some design stuff I can put into my folio. =))

I wish I could blog more often and look at inspiring things. But this week has been dull with AIA stuff. Mostly visual works, pretty boring adaptation stuff. Something Yani describes as Desktop Artist. Heh. But at least I did a label already, some re-branding collateral and hopefully I get to design the brochure for the meeting I am going tomorrow!

Awesome awesome!

The Office

I love my work pals. Haha we keep pranking each other at work! Recently Aldy went for her Europe trip for two weeks. And this is what we did to her desk! We worked hard. Seriously!!

Stayed back and missed a movie after work yesterday just to put the cotton balls everywhere! Haha! And the fake cats. The reason why we put fur balls and cats is cause Aldy hates cats! How can someone hate cats!!! URGH. And by the time it was almost noon, she feels like she is getting an allergy with cotton so she had to clean it up.

My office working environment is fun. It's pretty sad if one of us would leave the design studio. Well, I will have to negotiate with the bosses next week about my stay here. This is my last month working here and paying my bill. After this, i am not sure where I am heading to. Perhaps stay or maybe get an offer somewhere. I got a couple of places for interview and invitations for interns though...

Hmm thinking..
