Gorgeous Little Boy

I was screaming my head off and trying so hard not to kick or punch the computer screen. He is so friggin' adorable. The future Chuck Bass I must say. I hope he doesnt grow up useless or a jock or something.

* Sarah Alkaff feels scared for my future baby. I might torture/abuse him or her cause I just can't resist their cuteness! Hah!

LOOKBOOK

are you what you wear or are you what you eat?
then, if you eat like what you are, you end up wearing not what you want for yourself.

again, to wear or to eat?
i'd eat cause eating feels better and more satisfying than wearing. wearing is just something, just a thing. it's not everything like how eating is everything.

some looks gave me ideas, while some gave me the irks. well, worth some minutes spent though. I am rummaging my wardrobe tonight and gonna alter some old bottoms to make them something more 'today'. hah!

Oh by the way, Tuck-Ins is love... =)

BUSY BUSY
JANUARY

Seriously busy these days at work. Which is totally awesome cause sometimes I am just stuck with some stuck projects where the client take a million years to reply emails and to get their mind to choose an option.

Well this is my last week in DPi, I am positive they wanna keep me for the next few months but what I am interested is to know whether I will continue as a contract designer or full time. Well if they are taking me full time, my only hope is they would pay me the standard rate of a degree honors holder. I mean, I worked for hard for that stuff and I toiled so many nights just to make sure my designs are right, so I just feel I deserve a standard rate.

Hmmm... been busy week but very dry social life. My highlight last week was a dinner and movie Friday night with the moksis girls where we were just catching on old jokes and just missing each other and also Hanis's birthday dinner/mind cafe session on Saturday. Attica sucks like god knows what. Won't even think of stepping in there! URGH. Sucky tracks and crowd!

Ah I'm missing my Ayul. We haven't really had a good catch-up last week and today he's down with a bad tummy ache..

FOOSTI

This is a mobile marketing company who seek a revamped logo from us. I was assigned to do this logo design job. I proposed a few options but they chose this one. Well, at least we moved closer to a marketing mobile company professional look.

WEB WEB WEB

He's a very talented lad. I was looking for website inspirations cause I just met a client who wants me to design her the company's website. Simple looking info-based website. I was very impressed with many websites these days. From the web designer wall  site, one can learn many trends and he even shared some tutorials of how to create some really cool stuff. The whole site is insightful in terms of giving web design advices. Especially for designers like myself. I need to educate myself more in interactive media and all things gotta do with web design.

You can view more of his works in his own website called n-design studio.

Poking Butt Aches

Some great workout for the weekend. Abs,Bums & Thighs on Saturday and Step-Robics on Sunday with some Stretch Band exercise. It is fun, whole load of fun. But my body is aching especially my butt. I guess some form is forming up.

Towards a new butt in the new year. ;P

By the way, found this site on indexhibit. His webpage reminds me of Joanne's site. Black rectangles blocking text stuff. Try and explore. Jaehoyoun.

Do you believe what you see or you see what you believe?

I love the idea of the campaign. Common rubbish packed as seafood packages as though we fish them out to sell at supermarkets. No wonder they won the Yellow Pencil. =)

The guy who won the Black Pencil

Weird thing is, in his website, Matthew Dent, didn't show much really awesome works. One of the best is the Reverse UK coins he designed and it won him the Black pencil. I love the coins. Well thought out and this is what a site said about his work...

The Royal Mint’s New Reverse Coins in the UK have won their designer a Black Pencil at the D&AD Awards ceremony held in London, June 11. Matt Dent won the Black Pencil for the reverse design on the coins, which were chosen by the Royal Mint Advisory Committe from over 4,000 entries to a public competition. The Royal Mint Advisory Committee selected Matthew’s concept and design because of his respect for the British traditions of heraldry combined with a contemporary, fresh approach to the project.

Matt’s initials, “M.D.”, can be seen embedded in the Shield’s edge on most of the coins. The six designs on the 1p through to the 50p coins can be pieced together to form a complete image of the royal shield of arms. The £1 coin features the complete shield.

Matthew Dent is part of the creative team at established design practice 3 fish in a tree, London.

D&AD

The Gang Solo member won a D&AD Yellow Pencil Award for his VW Ads. In the midst of searching for his award winning masterpiece, I came across more awesome works. Truly, these people are just talented people with brilliant ideas. Fresh ones too. Will blog more on some favorites.

Check out more crazy stuff at the D&AD site.

D&AD President Garrick Hamm said,
“The breadth of creative work that’s been awarded this year is exceptional. We’re in the midst of a challenging time, and this work shows what the industry is capable of. The four Black Pencil winners demonstrate the power and all-encompassing nature of creativity – in education, politics and even in the change in our pockets. These winners are more than just great pieces of communication, they change our behaviour and touch our lives.”

F/lthy Gorgeous Th/ngs

I was reading Ema's tumblr and found this site where it's an online magazine about sex, art and photography. Very sexual compositions I must say but nevertheless interesting to look and try figure out what Dusdin Condren, one of their photographer, is trying to capture. Amazing sensual mind.

The above photos are from his Twilight series... He explains,
' I unpack what i see here, this alteration between interior and exterior space, the trace of connection and isolation. The emotional distance of a turned torso, the physical distance of a single lit window.

But parsing the visual elements just diminishes the visceral impact...'

Here's some of Dusdin photographs. Murky and dark. Love these...

for this particular project, this look similar to the project I did for Leo's Cafe Bar. Illustration style and stuff. But of course our illustration style is very different; plus the things we illustrate.

Saguez & Partners

'Design is not just about looking good'. I like how they make their website sound friendly and easy to navigate too. I found out about them while looking through Sarah Alkaff's book. Designing Brand Experience. I was looking for some inspiration actually.

Cause I was stuck with some mobile marketing company revamped logo. Only at Stage Draft 3 they decided not to have the reception visual. So I used more of other communication iconic stuff like speech and people. Hope they like at least one of it.

This Saguez & Partners is a French company. They do a lot of design areas, from concept to production. I love their packaging stuff and branding. Really look expensive though it might be just a local brand there.
