when the makings are done, there was an air of relief

and boy was i happy that day!

it drained much energy but the whole preparation was so worth it. I could see myself setting up my own lifestyle shop and displaying my products in many amazing locations around the globe!

In this final league of my final degree project, I began to test out my patterns onto wearable’s and products in contemporary setting. I have drawn from many inspirations and successful designers who have made fantastic and lovely patterns in their design career. I start to realize that I actually have a deep interest in fabric, textile and interior design. I love playing with space and filling it up beautifully with my patterns.

Some of the many names of great and inspiring designers are Julia Rothman, Florence Broadhurst, Trivia Guild and Barbara Hulanicki. I see my final degree project as a platform for me to extend my potential in pattern design, I wish to exhibit and commercialise my creations in some amazing locations and museums around the globe, for instance, The Museum of Modern Art (Moma), Nuno, Victoria and Albert Museum and especially the museums in Middle East.
With this ambition, I hope to further explore more experimentations, techniques in the area of pattern and textile design using my final degree project.

This whole experience has truly brought me to a whole new level thinking, evaluating, analyzing, observing and solving. There were many hurdles I went through but the challenges became a learning point as a designer. I have learnt to widen my perspectives and be open to new solutions and to always be hungry for more new, innovative and creative ways of design.

The trick is to keep breathing.

and now, we've to complete our thesis journal/report in bound books. right after this dateline, back to fine tuning my products for the graduation show and also do my portfolio!

colour as location

It's been two months since the last update. I was pretty busy with fyp makings. right after the first presentation in Jan, I worked on the colour palettes and dug into some more books and research. I chose colours according to locations now. The locations gave me that same feeling as when each prayer time comes. This whole process felt special to me as it was very close to my heart, my religion.

I spent some time with choosing locations and colours but it was worth the tedious process. here are the palettes and its locations.

Blossom perks up the day with the colour inspired from Nasr Al-Mulk Mosque in Shiraz, Iran and Lahore Fort in Pakistan. Blossom symbolizes energy vibes in self with the use of vibrant colours.



Growth expands our potential with the colours inspired from Quyi Mosque in Tripoli, Libya. Growth symbolizes one’s potential to thrive with the use of nature colours.



Peace embraces the peace and quiet with the colours inspired from Mausoleum of Najm Al Din Kobra in Turkmenistan and Masjid-I shah in Isfahan, Iran. Peace symbolizes solitude and calm with the use of cool colours.




Glimmer glistens and glows with the colours inspired from Mausoleum of Tughabeg Khanum, Turkmenistan. Glimmer symbolizes the sparkle in self with bold colours.
