Very talented young lad. Check some of his works in his very simple to navigate site! Nicolas Tual is quite a fresh grad but his talent is superb.! he has a few self art directed works and his illustrations are really eye catching. i love the colours he used and the characters he created. It is so awesome to be able to use your own personal style and touch on your client's work. I mean it's a great way to spread your art...


For now my design work has to cater to client's guidelines. I hope someday I get to spread my personal touch on big brands too.

Oh, by the way, Erica is gonna feature in a segment tomorrow night on Channel News Asia. I better not miss that one! My classmates are all doing well. Viet tu is in Edinburgh taking her masters. I last hear Joanne is an berlin doing god know what. But im sure she's having a helluva fun time! And jie ni is launching her FYP book on chinese superstitions, which is super great!


I do have visions to expands my fyp. But im getting more drawn to geometric and minimalist things nowadays. perhaps i can incorporate that interest into my works. speaking of which, i need to build my folio soon. lots to do.... this is super exciting! but quite nerve wrecking!

I'm doing some publication design myself. A health products company newsletter. I refuse to make it plain and boring just because it's so corporate. I hope the clients will be open to my design. Did sent the first draft. So far so good. But I want to work on the cover. Not working for me yet now... Somehow it just lacks something. Like there's no flair to it yet....I was hoping they would choose the one I really like. But they chose the generic safe option. Blearrgghh!

Movie Night! Yay!
And so we have our movie night in the office. Pulled some sofas over to the plasma and ordered some pizzas! typical movie night but what we watched that night was not the usual thing colleagues and bosses would normally watch.


we had a list of movies to choose from an email and battle royale seemed to be the most interesting and not in black and white! well it fits the bill. we wanted something exciting and not too old... besides, it's related to us, angsty young people! I should have taken a picture of hanis's face when she was watching the movie. squirming facial expressions, shaking her head in disbelief and in total shock with no comments. and cursing us for watching the gore movie!

Weekend was a blast. Managed to buy everything's needed for home and myself. I'm left with just shoes/heels/wedges. Gonna try find one either after work or this weekend. Im just so drained and I dont know why...We bought all the necessary decor and i even bought my brother's outfit. I still have tons of cookies to make. I better find time to make some and help my mum out after work.

Anyhoots, I am excited for the make-over thingy this wed! I really dont know what to freaking wear!! Oh gosh!! we are entitled to 3 outfits. wani suggested traditional, profession and dressy. well traditional is fairly simple. just my chundidar suit with ali baba shoes and I am done. for profession, well i dress so casual to work i have no idea what to wear! and worst! dressy??!!

i never really been to fine dining with ayul except carousel and during valentine's and my version of clubwear are things which are super comfy. no strappy heels or clogs or let alone mini dresses?! I guess I will look thru my wardrobe later tonight and decide the mix and match?! I have to decide by tomorrow night and pack cause wed morning will be awfully too late and i will end up feeling crap for bringing the wrong stuff to wear!

Here's some ideas which I already have in my wardrobe..maybe i should just wear my parachute pants and tuck in some top? aaahhh..

WOW!!

I'm already at post 202!!

That's super fast. How time flies... and now I realised I've been here for over a year. Isn't it amazing how each day passes like nobody's business? Well I'm happy that annual appraisal is over. phew! I guess I did ok for a newbie... I am proud of what I have achieved so far and I hope my skills and creativity can bloom each day. I must say I work quicker now. I can absorb design briefs more efficiently and I can work independently these days... I find myself more comfortable and more confident making more bold decisions in design and stuff. Though restricted most of the time due to budget and clients' brand guidelines and what nots, I managed to squeeze through some pitches and get selected for a few visuals and mock-ups.

Well tiny steps at a time to becoming the best designer I want to see myself become. I just want to be the best for me cause I want to be happy doing the things I do everyday and for the rest of my life. I don't think I can live without design. It's been part of me like how my dodo is...

Design. What's there not to love?

lurves....

been so busy at work i didn't have time to check out cool creative stuff and get inspired... so, little little things that i chanced upon is like having magic pops in my month in this ramadhan. it's funny though. during ramadhan is the time i buy nonsense i didnt even think of during usual months. i am suppose to save and have more moolahs but i end up spending more than my usual lunch pocket money! (i always bring lunch from home, so i really dont spend at all sometimes technically speaking!)

my colleagues and i actually tried to plan where to explore each day. we went Vivo, Chinatown, Taka so far. we're going to MBS today as abbreviated by Hanis, Marina Bay Sands! I cant wait!! Oh speaking spending, i bought pore strips and masks yesterday at a chinatown super awesome cheap cosmetic store! i have no idea what nonsense we'll be up to later but i am looking forward to my break soon! ;)
