ELEANOR WOOD
Love the surrealist touch in her collage artworks. Tasty graphic elements and subjects. I feel so calm and at ease with the great choice of colour palatte. Reminds me a little of Dadaism where collages techniques are being developed from the cubist movement in the early 1920s! See Hanna Hoch's work below...Lovely lovely inspiration!

Really cool campaign!
Would like to see them on the street actually but I doubt Singapore would allow visuals like this...Nevertheless I love how the illustrations merge with the real subject. And it's witty and so-in-your-face!

Thanks sam for posting this on your fb wall!
I love chancing upon little little delights like this... especially when you are zoning out at work.. heh heh..

Another Lovely Weekend..

The weekend was a great break! I did all sorts of stuff and so much fun! Went JB with the girls and did Via Ferrata at Orchard Central with Ayul and then had dinner at Marche! =) Lovely, lovely weekend!

Well going back to work mode, I was just looking at random stuff to start my morning...

I was cleaning up my desk and putting my new stash of stationery! =) bought some nice vibrant tapes, zebra and ice cream paper clips and a pen holder. I think I need a proper miniature locker for my workspace to keep my lotions and stuff too.. Well still looking for one... Popular ran out of them already I think..

Anyhoots, I saw some really cool stationery and tapes at NothingElegant. They are effing neat!!! I love stained, rugged and messy looking stuff. It's just a pretty break from all the modern looking sterile stuff I see often in design these days..

I am so tempted to get some on impulse man!

AWESOME AVATAR...

The movie was awesome in terms of graphic! But the storyline is a little too predictable and draggy. I enjoyed some parts of the story, like the cultural and historical aspects of the People. And how they have adapted some human civilisation before.

But other than that, the story is fine. I was appreciating the graphics like ALL THE TIME! The colours are so rich and I just love how everything feels normal to watch. Unlike those SCI-FI crap or way too fantastical movies. I guess technology in 2000 and beyond made James Cameron 1995 ideas and concepts came to live. Kudos to him for that! How fascinating movies are these days. They just got tougher and tougher and way way beyond imaginable.. =)

The Office

I love my work pals. Haha we keep pranking each other at work! Recently Aldy went for her Europe trip for two weeks. And this is what we did to her desk! We worked hard. Seriously!!

Stayed back and missed a movie after work yesterday just to put the cotton balls everywhere! Haha! And the fake cats. The reason why we put fur balls and cats is cause Aldy hates cats! How can someone hate cats!!! URGH. And by the time it was almost noon, she feels like she is getting an allergy with cotton so she had to clean it up.

My office working environment is fun. It's pretty sad if one of us would leave the design studio. Well, I will have to negotiate with the bosses next week about my stay here. This is my last month working here and paying my bill. After this, i am not sure where I am heading to. Perhaps stay or maybe get an offer somewhere. I got a couple of places for interview and invitations for interns though...

Hmm thinking..

Hannah Stouffer

I was struck by the busyness of her work. I don't know where to focus but in the end when you look deeper, the composition is quite interesting. Many layers of illustrations, colours and textures. Well Hannah Stouffer is an illustrator based in Los Angeles. She has done quite a few great commercial works for big brands.

Today is quite dry at work. I was looking for inspirations. I think I need to get the ball rolling for my website. I am doing up a fresh site map now. I have a couple of things to do. All this things make up a long list. Need to re-shoot some projects and I have a few projects need to be re-done. It's funny cause when I look at some of my works now, I was like hmm what was I thinking? haha.

Oh well. I need to make productive things in life. I want to feel useful.

Stina Perrson

Yey!! I found another person to go goo goo gah gah! Stina Perrson is an awesome illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is awesome cause she used the materials I love to deal with too. Watercolour, arcylic, cut up papers and collage and her mixed media pieces are great! She is working with a great deal of clients and very famous people. She is one great inspiration for me to get back and find my crazy artsy self.

Stina's pop coloured art is something very fresh and certainly creates its own mark in the fashion world. I love how they have this sort of 60s feel and still being very edgy and trendy looking, particularly they way she puts in her watercolours and her colour swatches plus her bold strokes.

Actually I do have some of those like that in my scrapbook. I will take better pictures of those and put them into my website folio. By the way I need to restructure my works into something less formal but more casual and personal. Something that reveals Sarah.

I think I am looking at all this great artists cause I simply missed being so random and experimental with paints and paper. I guess it's never too late to start now!
