Wizard of Oz REVAMPED
Jessica Hische is a designer who is all about type! She teaches at University of the Arts in Philadelphia in a module called Personal Viewpoints. She gave her class an assignment; one main project with multiple components — book cover design + endpapers, titlepage, and bookplate for a special edition novelization of The Wizard of Oz. I would love to be part of this class. Perhaps I can create a revamped look of my favorite book when I find the time....Which reminds me, I have yet to finish my design for my personal stuff!

Area 2 by PHAIDON

I pampered myself with this gorgeous and inspirational design book last weekend! It was not just a great buy, it is freaking awesome! I realised my mind kept thinking in creative ways. This is book is definitely a real bombardment of inspirations man!

Love it to bits... !

Manon Den Hartog

This guy is being featured in one of a design blog that showcases design on a daily selection. The works being shown there are amazing. The blog is ManyStuff.org

I am looking for more of his works. I love the layers and his typo layout.

We Made This

I found this design blog created by a London based graphic design studio which specialises on print media. Their works are not that bad either. Some of them earned the d&D award or something. Their blog also share their insights on the things they see. Very nice new finds on the design world can be found there. We Made This is very interesting. the things they posted is running along the same tastes as mine.

Felipe Nogueira

At first glance, I thought, from the name, the Brazilian designer is a lady. But Felipe Nogueira ia actually a guy! Haha. His works are loud and very personalised. That is one of the reason why I like it. He attracts attention by being very loud and busy, nice busy on the layout. At some point, his designs becomes too irritating, it actually makes the viewer remembers his busy designs very well even after a few days not looking at it.

That was what happened to me anyways. I gotta start rebuilding my website as soon as I can grab hold of some creative time. Ramadhan is surely a busy month.

Olafur Eliasson

He is one cool guy who does really amazing sculptures in significant places around the world. He has his own studio, Studio Olafur Eliasson which he built in 1995. He is an Islandic/Danish artist who has a fine eye for detail, design and accuracy. His works are just breathe-taking.

There are a couple of publications written about him. I personally like the Take Your Time work that he did for SFMOMA, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The colours are just very inviting and I bet the experience going through the tunnel will be fascinating.

Even his laser cut book is so effing cool. Remind me of that guy, Brian Dettmer. There's lots to see around his website. 

He also donated 3 tons of white lego bricks to a community for them to build cityscapes. Such a nice idea and something very interactive for the whole community to be involved.

I have more cool things to load. But I'll just save it for tomorrow!

Farm Is Farm

Farm is Susie Nielsen and Christine Gallagher. They are well rounded graphic designers who often collaborated on project with other esteemed designer as well. I like their style in the aspect of being simple and blunt at the same time. They are not like those generic designers but they have substance in terms of thinking concept. Just look at their direct mailer! Randomly nice. Their projects are mainly prints. I especially like the book delivered/recieved. I realise they like to stitch their pages too. Hmm I love to do that too. I just love introducing textures onto my nice papers...
